Mi Café Su Café is a Bristol-based coffee startup founded by my Father. In creating the company, I was tasked to brand the company using my Graphic Design skills. For this job, I used my skills in Adobe Illustrator to craft the company's logo ready for prime time, which is now displayed front and centre in the company's social media presence, across the beautiful Citröen HY coffee van, as well as on custom aprons manufactured for Mi Café Su Café.
My branding work takes deep inspiration from the iconic look of the van itself, which extends further than just the primary company logo. After spending a day on a van and engaging with customers, I noticed one customer brought their own travel mug that had a design that complimented the van fantastically. One thing led to another, and I organised a meeting between Huskee Coffee Cups Co. which led to Mi Café Su Café officially stocking the aesthetically beautiful, environmentally-friendly reusable coffee cups.
Whilst the Celine the Citroen HY was being prepped for a round of improvements ready for the summer 2021 season, Adam and I got together to shoot this little feature for the El Café line of artisan coffee.

In the second-half of 2020, we launched El Café, our own blend of coffee. Our initial order proved to be successful as we have since sold out and are in the process of restocking our supply.
As you can quite easily see, the first iteration of El Café's design evokes a clear representation of the van itself, adapting the Mi Café Su Café logo to represent the windscreen, as well as side panels to complete the look.
For the second iteration ready for Holiday season, I knew that gifting would be the primary pillar to design for, so I wanted to use the opportunity to introduce the brand to new people by presenting iconic scenes of Bristol, such as the Clifton Suspension Bridge, Our rich history of Aeronautics, and of course, the van itself. In eager anticipation of my upcoming return to Japan, I also created an 'Omiyage blend' design which is meant for giving. Using my experience of living and working in Japan previously, I adapted the packaging to fit the Japanese coffee market. This version is extremely limited, and will primarily serve as gifts to my future colleagues.
I recently developed Mi Café Su Café's website using Square Online to pair seamlessly with the POS system in use. We're now able to process orders online, as well as sell through Facebook and Instagram. Give us a try!
